Where To Earn Money If You Are Totally Broke?

Updated: Apr 2, 2022

First off, I would like to commend you for looking for ways on how you can survive in the financial turmoil you are currently in.

I assume that you are totally broke and in the negative zone, with little or no cash going in. However, if you have an existing job or if you are a small business owner but would like additional stream of income, then there's a better way and opportunity that will really make a difference in your life. If you want to check this out, click here.

When you're broke and don't have anything going on at all, then the only option you have is to 'Trade Your Time For Money'.

This means that you are in the losing end and don't have much flexibility. This may result to sacrificing your health as you lack sleep and would consume all of your energy.

What you need to focus on is towards 'Maximizing Your Time'.

Seek Help

Before everything else, seek help. What I mean by that is not to borrow money but rather go to your parents, relatives, dedicated government agencies and seek assistance if there's any that you can avail.

You can also set up donation or fundraising online such as in gofundme.

Ultimate rule: Be honest.

There's no harm in trying. If there's help, that's great! But either way, you have to work on yourself to get back on track.

Start Local

To make the most of your time, look for jobs that are closer to your place. You don't want to waste your valuable time. Look for those 'cash on hand' jobs or casual work and take as many as you can. Check your local newspaper or see those online job boards such as Airtasker.

Online Freelancing

If you currently have a laptop and possess skills that you can do online, then you can browse those online marketplace looking for freelance services such as Fiverr, Upwork, etc.

if you have a car or vehicle, then you can consider doing Uber or food deliveries. However you'll incur gas expenses and you don't really want to kill your time waiting and sitting in the car which may take toll in your health. You'd be better off searching for opportunities w/c involve movement if your capable to do so.

Additional Tips

Ignore Those Ads Offering You To Earn Money

Remember, those people spend money on advertising to sell you something. Some are legit and most are not, but the key point is that you're not in the position at the moment to outlay capital.

Not Permanent Solution

Doing random jobs to make money should only be your temporary bridge. This is just to take less pressure off you in paying off bills.

Even if you land a permanent job, don't fall into the trap. If you think about it, there's really no more such thing as permanent.

To give you example, if you look at LinkedIn, there are lots of recruiters that lost their jobs during the pandemic as companies have to downsize due to economic pressure. How ironic that these recruiters whose job is to help people secure jobs are looking for jobs themselves.

Final Advice

You have to be smart and be aware of your environment that would have directly impact on your ability to provide for yourself and your family.
